    About this collection

Handmade Tree Bookshelves in Solid Wood

Quick answer: A Woodfurnist tree bookshelf is a solid wood shelf shaped like a tree, with branches that hold books, plants and decor. Each one is carved and finished by hand in our Da Nang workshop, made to order in 7 to 10 business days, and ships free in the US. Current prices run from $867.90 to $5,927.90 depending on design and size.

A tree bookshelf does two jobs at once: it stores your books and it becomes the sculptural focal point of the room. Because every branch is shaped from natural wood, no two shelves look exactly alike. This collection brings together all of our tree designs, from tall freestanding trees to wall-mounted branches and compact corner pieces for nurseries and reading nooks.

How to pick the right size

Most of our tree bookshelves come in four sizes, S to XL. On our larger standing designs that runs from about 60 inches wide by 60 inches tall up to about 92 inches wide by 90 inches tall, with a depth of around 10 inches. Wall and corner designs start smaller. Every product page lists the exact dimensions for each size, so measure your wall first and allow some breathing room on each side so the branches read as a sculpture rather than a crowded shelf.

    • Measure height and width: leave space above the top branch, especially under sloped ceilings or near light fixtures.
    • Check the depth: around 8 to 10 inches holds paperbacks, small plants and frames without crowding a walkway.
    • Not sure? Send us your wall dimensions from any product page and we will help you choose, or ask about a custom size.

    Finish and care

Many designs offer a choice of finish. Smooth Surface gives a refined, even feel, while Natural Rough Surface keeps more of the wood's original texture. Some designs also offer tone options such as Brown, Walnut, Oak or Black. To keep the wood looking its best, dust with a soft dry cloth, keep the shelf away from direct heat and standing water, and read our guide on how to clean solid wood furniture. Tree bookshelf FAQ

    What is a tree bookshelf?

A tree bookshelf is a shelf built in the shape of a tree, with the branches acting as shelves for books, plants and decor. At Woodfurnist each one is shaped and finished by hand from solid wood, so it works as both storage and a sculptural piece.

How much does a tree bookshelf cost?

Woodfurnist tree bookshelves currently cost from $867.90 to $5,927.90, depending on the design and size. Every price includes free standard shipping in the US.

Does a tree bookshelf need to be attached to the wall?

Wall-mounted designs are fixed to the wall by design. For tall standing designs we recommend securing the shelf to the wall with hardware suited to your wall type, especially in homes with children or pets. Ask us before ordering if you are unsure about your wall.

Is every tree bookshelf one of a kind?

Yes. Each shelf is shaped from natural wood, so the grain, knots and branch details vary from piece to piece, and your shelf will not match the photos exactly. Every piece is signed by the artisan who made it.

    How long does delivery take?

Most orders arrive in about 12 to 17 business days: 7 to 10 business days to build and finish, then 5 to 7 business days for free standard shipping in the US.
